    Another update at last!

I ran out of my original glue so I bought a replacement in a local fabric shop and it was HORRIBLE to use. My original glue was clear and felt more like hair serum than glue when it got on your fingers, the new stuff was like primary school PVA but nowhere near as much fun to peel off your fingers. It wasn't ideal for very delicate crystal work.

Anyway, I went back to my original supplier and ordered another four tubes of the original silicon-based fabric cement and I'm now back on track. I even think I have enough crystals to actually finish the shoes.

Anyway... Here is the latest picture.

Latest updates. I've totally finished the lighter red on one shoe including the strap. You wouldn't believe how sparkly they are!

Thank you! You've just reminded me that I haven't posted the latest pictures.

I've now finished one heel and i'm working on the other. I'm hoping that I don't run out of crystals again! By the time I'm done I think there'll be about 8,000 crystals on the shoes!

By the time I'm done the crystals will have cost me close to 300, which might put people off a little.

Gosh that's quite a lot, but I'm sure they will be worth it. You'll be able to wear them lots after the wedding no doubt! x

I think they are fantastic! None of your wedding guests will ever forget them, and they are obviously very special to you so the money you've spent on doing them is probably worth it, it's not like you're going to wear them for one day then store them in a cupboard!

Hi Special Sundae, your shoes are beautiful. I'm looking at doing this to my shoes as well so on your new shoes have you used the hot fix or tweezers and glue? xx

I've used a gem setter (a little plastic stick thing with wax on one end and a pointy bit on the other) and a silicon based fabric cement. I tried gem-tac type glue but it was messy and hard to use on the satin. I think I got a much tighter pattern of stones on them than I would have managed to with a hot-fix wand.

Stunning! Well done. You must be glad that they are finished or are you now itching to start something else?

I'm feeling both. I can't decide what to do next. I thought about doing little clear crystal shoes for the flowergirls, but decided to put them in red glitter shoes like the bridesmaids.

    Any ideas?
