Sent off the cheque and contract for Ceilidh Minogue yesterday - hope they're ok!

Next stop, string quartet... Meanwhile the Other Half is now on photographer hunt - he's found one fabulous guy in Yorkshire who will travel to Balbirnie for 100. He's expensive (1,500 before you even get an album) but his pictures are amazing - just the style we want.

I am also based in London but heard Ceilidh Minogue played live and they sounded really good. We've booked them for next year and they have always replied my emails promptly.

The band we've chosen are great, they're called Jammie Devils and seem to be very well priced, no where near 1300!! x

    Hi there

I have had a lot of trouble getting a band booked, 4 or 5 we tried were booked - 2 we really loved were fudge machine & aurora but both already booked on our date.

Have kind of got a few we are wanting to see before we choose, Madison, soul train and coast who are currently all free on our date.

Can anyone recommend any of these or another band they know who is good too?

    Thanks, Lindsey

We had a band called Beep the Jeep..they were very good, and the dance floor was full for the entire night. They played a real mix of songs...something for everyone. Would definitely recommend them

You can try the Tattiehowkers ceilidh band. I think they're about the 500/600 mark.

Not sure where you stay but I booked our band - Funk Nation through Hire a band & they have showcases quite regularly. They're having one on Wed 2nd Sept 09 at the Holiday Inn East Kilbride.

This is where I seen my band live & booked them, its free entry & is on for about an hour or so...

We booked our band through music for scotland - they have videos of all the bands so you can get a good idea of what they sound like. The agency also arranged for us to go hear two of the bands in person. We were really impressed with the sevice we recieved.

Yes, we had seen Monaco at a friend's wedding and the floor was full all night so we booked them ouselves. Very easy to deal with and very flexible. We had the best night you could imagine and it was all down to them. They just seemed o know what to play and when. I can't recommend them highly enough!

think its mojo rising we are going fro too, off to see them on the 24th at gallus

Only problem is the set list, its not really our style of music!

Basically every band we want is booked! my fault for choosing a date smack bang in the middle of summer 31/07/10!

We had pinned our hopes on coast from looking at the website but went to the showcase and was reeeeeeally disappointed, but thats just us, if you like em then good for you!
