Default Wedding Report (With Link to Pics) - Mr & Mrs Sim 30th August 2014

    Hi Folks,

So I've posted my supplier review so I thought I would post my wedding report as I've loved reading everyone else's and I thought I'd post a link to my pics (Again I love looking at everyones and seeing all the detailed that's been mentioned over the various posts!)

I finshed work on 22nd August which gave me the full week before the wedding to do various bits and pieces.

    Tuesday 26th August:
Picked up the marriage schedule - that was when the excitement really kicked in and it all started to feel a bit real. Then off to the hairdressers to get the greys covered up and a little trim to tidy up the bouffant.
Got all the guys shirts ironed and hung up along with the cravats.
Finished all the favours - we had chocolate lollipops - Lips made from Candy Melts for the ladies and Mint Choc moustaches for the guys and plain choc lollies for the kids.
These were also doubling up as the name place settings so they were bagged and tied with personalised ribbon (Until we ran out so it was string after that!) and the luggage tag attached with the guests name on (I had painstackinly stamped each individials name letter by letter for 103 guests) - all boxed and sorted by table and ready to go.

    Wednesday 27th August:
Beautification process continues - waxing (Ouch) and nails were done (Now to try and not break any nails in the run up).
We had guests pre select their dinner for the wedding day - so as everyone could remember what they had ordered we printed off each individual menu (Silly I know as the venue already had their orders and my table plan but I just wanted to do it - you know make things difficult for myself) they were then paper clipped to the appropriate favour ready to be dropped off at the venue.
I made up the kids favours. I bought some pink and blue gift bags from Tesco and they were filled with different things depending on the ages and sex of the kids. These included football magazines and books for the older ones and crayons and colouring/activity books for everyone else. There were glo bracelet type things, punch balloon and the 2 little girls had gold crowns too.

    Thursday 28th August:
Tan done and all the little bits and pieces finished and then I boxed everything per table for the venue so all they had to do was emplty the appropriate box onto the appropriate table. My wedding co-ordinator said she was very grateful and it made life easy for them.

    Friday 29th August:
Wowee - the excitement levels were through the roof but I knew I was going to be mega mega busy. Myself and my bridesmaids were staying in a lodge near to the venue the night before and the ushers and best man were staying with the groom at ours - so I had to go and buy blow up beds and duvets for them and then make sure I had food and refreshments for the lodge for the Friday night and Saturday whilst we were getting ready. All my close friends were coming down on the Friday night for one last get together too so I needed to amek sure there was food etc for that.

We dropped everything off at the wedding venue - Boxes upon boxes of stuff - They had a wedding on that day so it was exciting seeing the venue set up and it made it all the more real.

I then had to get all the bridal party gifts sorted and laid out for Mark to give to the guys and I had briefed my brother who was an usher to give Mark his surprise on the morning (A nice goody bag with Tissues, Groom Socks, Hip Flask and new pair of jeans and a new watch) so I had to make sure that was all ready and hidden.

Then it was time to say goodbye to my fiance, which actually wasn't too bad - I thought I would be more emotional than I actually was but I was fine.

Then myself and one of my bridesmaids went to the lode (Drummohr). Oh my goodness this was gorgeous. It had it's own hot tub in a little hut type thing and it was HUGE! I was so excited. We went and got some takeaway dinner before all the other girls came down.

The girls and my mum arrived and then we had a good laugh and giggle and slowly but surely they all left and it was me and my bridesmaid.

We decided to call it a night at about 11:30 but I think I finally managed to dose off at about quarter past mid night

Saturday 30th August - MY WEDDING DAY!

I woke up bright and early @ 6:15 - there was no way I was getting back to sleep. So I lay in bed so as not to wake my bridesmaid and then I finally had to get up to go to the loo and she must have been lying awake because she was through jumping on my bed before I knew it :-)

So by 7:30 we were up and showered and sitting having a little refreshment. My other bridesmaid and hairdresser arrived just after eight and project get ready commenced.

The morning passed by so quickly - my mum and dad arrived at the lodge with my little boy, the make up artist arrived and then flowers and then the photographer.

I text my brother to remind him to give OH his present and I was slightly gutted that he hadn't arranged anything but I soon got over it.

1pm and several glasses of prosecco later and it was time to get into my dress - This went without a hitch - the girls had me in and ready within 10 mins. The cars arrived just as I was finished getting my dress on and that was my first teary moment.

So then we had some pics taken and then it was the big reveal of the dress to my dad. These are some of my favourite pics from the day - you can just see the raw emotion.

Some more pics and before I knew it, it was five to 2 - I was supposed to be getting married at 2 - Oh Dear.

I really had wanted to be on time but that wasn't going to happen now as it was a 10 minute drive to the venue.

As we were arriving at the venue I realised that I had got my wish and the weather had been kind and we were able to get married outside. I was delighted and then I noticed some people who weren't guests but had come along to see me get married - that's when the realisation kicked in and I started to get a bit panicky.

2:15pm - my dad proudly escorted me down the aisle. The ceremony was fab - laughter and tears where appropriate. My friend did a lovely reading - I read a poem to my OH and we had a group participation blessing at the end. It was awesome and we got so many compliments from guests as to how great the ceremony and our celebrant were.

2:45 - Phototime - Drinks reception and canapes for everyone else :-)

We had all our group shots taken and the Brian Cassidy - our amazing photographer took myself, hubby and bridal party down beside the river to get some more shots.

4:45 - We were finally piped into the room as husband and wife and in time for the speeches.

OH MY the speeches. My dads was lovely and very typical father of the bride - he's not a great speaker but it was really nice what he did say.
Hubbies - oh my goodness - his was funnier than the best mans - the boy did well
The best mans - It was really good and no inapproriate-ness at all.

Dinner time - I honestly was not in the slightest it hungry - I managed to eat somethings but mainly we were mingliing round the tables.
And then during pudding the photographer took us out to the courtyard for more pics and then once pudding was finished before the evening guests arrived it was more gorup pics.

Before I knew it, the co-ordinator was letting me know my evening guests were arriving. We were having welcome drinks for the evening guests which was nice as it meant we got to greet everyone as they came in and they started the night with a lovely glass of fizz :-)

We then cut the cake and had our awkward shuffle. We had a band and they had learnt the first dance for us (Peacful Easy Feeling by The Eagles) and they did a fantastic job.

During the night one of our day guests for up to sing with the band (THe Gambler by Kenny Rodgers) which was the 'Anthem' from the Stag do which was great and then later on I got up to sing with the band - hilarious!

The rest of the night was filled with laughter, dancing and drinking (And an impromptu fitness class - I'm a fitness instructor and everyone who comes to was at the wedding) so when a song came on from the class I got up and instructed to it - it was so so very funny.

We both had an amazing night and I really didn't want it to finish. Myself and hunny then went back to the lodge.

On the Sunday we spent the morning lounging about and in the hot tub which was nice and then we went and collected our son to spend the night with him before he went on holiday with my mum and dad and we jetted off to Tenerife for 3 days - Bliss.

Well done if you managed to get to the end of that xx

Thanks Everyone - I love my pics - In fact I think I look at them every day :-) It's keeping the wedding blues at bay ;-)

RoxanneD, yes I want to relive it again and again and again, my dress has been dry cleaned and all boxed up, I really want to get it out and put it on again but I know there is no way I'll ever get it folded back in the box like it is - Ha Ha Ha! I'm not sure my resolve will last that long though.
