    Default August Brides

I've seen threads for most other months but I've not seen anything for us August folks.

How are all your plans coming along? My invitations arrived and are waiting collection - EEK! Exciting.

Also we've jus found out that M&S have stopped doing the cake we wanted so I'm frantically trying to source a cake maker with short(ish) notice.

    xx

Love this post... I'm 23rd August and getting married at MacDonald Houston House

Big things still to do is
    Finalise numbers
Waiting on my invites being made

And right now my mind has went blank, I feel like I'm constantly thinking weddings just now too lol... I've changed my centrepieces a million times but finally decided upon vintage china teacups and flowers, so I've been collecting them over the last few weeks, charity shops are my new thing

May is full of wedding weekends though, BM fittings, hair and make up trials, hen night in Newcastle, looking for MOB outfit and meeting the florist.... The list is ongoing... Soooo excited 😁 xxx

8th August for me! It's scary how fast this year is going, can't believe it's May next week!

I've still some bits and pieces to do:

    Underskirt
    Underwear
    Groom's waistcoat and suit
    Hair and make up trials
    Buy placecards
    Construct and decorate card box
    Best man and bridesmaid gifts
Write and send invites (getting done next week though, expecting them to arrive tomorrow or Tuesday)
    Choose and buy cake topper
    Legal forms
Decide on ceremony music and first dance, also music for the videographer
    Put together Debenhams gift list
Buy white Converse for the reception
Book minimoon (we'll only have a few days so looking to get a late deal somewhere)
    Make table name signs

Quite a list actually! And I've probably forgotten some things as well!

We paid off our honeymoon balance on Saturday - 5 days in Orlando (Going to do Universal, Busch Gardens, Blue Man Group), then 11 days at the Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamiaca - cannot wait!

We've got a meeting with our venue's wedding co-ordinator and some suppliers in a few weeks time, and I think the date we're there is at the very beginning of the window when we can submit our M10 forms; so we can do that when we're in the area - sounds scary to think that the big day is really not that far off anymore!

Seem to be taking it a bit too easy for my own good at the moment, despite still having loads to do! Think I'm going to order my Groom's gift this month. Does anyone know where I can get a nice gift box to put his gifts into? I'm getting him an engraved pocket watch, engraved cufflinks, mini whiskey (for dutch courage), mints (for our first kiss as a married couple, haha!), and wanted a nice box to put them all in. Also, going to order my BM gifts this month too.
    xx

Thought i would join in too, i'm 16th August at Colzium House. My day invites went out last week and got my first rsvps through the post on Saturday, it's soo exciting opening them and seeeing who's definitely coming i'm definitely in wedding mode. My list of things to do is too large to sit and type lol but my main thing is writing the ceremony which we really need to get a move on with and we've still to go and look at rings...my fiance is absolutely useless at helping with anything wedding related, will have to pin him down to discuss the ceremony lol xx

Well done Kirsty for making an August thread - it's so nice to hear how other girls are getting on! I am 30th August and feel fairly organised but still have a lot to do. We have our pre-wedding meeting at our venue at the start of May so lots will get sorted then, and I plan to send our overseas invites in about a week's time with the rest going out at the end of May. We still need to:

    Sort music for ceremony/reception
    Have hair/make up trials
Have dress fittings though my dress is here
Get guys' stuff organised - if H2B doesn't get the finger out soon I may shoot him
Buy H2B's presents (dependent on previous item on list!)
Make table plan, table names and place names once we have RSVPs back
Get flower girl dress and shoes
    Organise ceremony (this Tuesday)
    Buy presents for family etc
    Make orders of service
    Buy jewellery and underwear
    Submit M10
    Make kids activity packs/comfort baskets
    Make favours
    Order rings

Phew! A lot still to do! xx

Helloo! Brill to see fellow August brides, and how everyone's plans are going!

I am sooo excited as now I have got my flowergirl dresses sorted, they tried them on sunday and they are soo cute and just a little bit fo room in them if they grow in the next few months. Then on monday I went down to the shop I got my wedding dress and they were having a sample sale so I managed to get the headpiece I was going for, and my veil for much cheaper!! woohoo, great to get some things ticked off the list!!

    I have still to do:
Get invitations & post out (just waiting on my final sample arriving to check them over)
Honeymoon to be paid this week
    Underwear & underskirt
    Dress fittings
H2B to get his shirt, the rest of his outfit is ordered
Presents for H2B, wedding party and family
    Make comfort baskets
    Make favours
    Sort jewellery
    Hair & make up trails
    Flowergirl shoes
    Marriage forms
    Choose music for ceremony
    Arrange gift list
Decorate all jam jars for centrepieces (going to have a day with my mum and bridesmaid's to get this done quickly)
Table plan & place cards, but can't be done till rsvp's back
Ceremony details still to be decided, readings etc

Oh dear, seems I still have lots to do, better start getting on with some of it haha!!! Happy planning ladies xx

Bridesmaid Dresses are here!! Now to decide on what to do with my pregnant bridesmaid dress (She will be 38 weeks pregnant on the wedding day!) - We were originally going to put panels in the dress as needed but they are suggesting changing it to lace up!
The shop have been amazing and really accommodating. I suppose they'll probably deal with these sorts of adjustments regularly.

Invitations are worming their way to the lucky recipients - however I'm having a bit of a nightmare with the supplier as I was some menu's short and I can't get the last of them out until she acknowledges me and actually sends them.

M&S have now discontinued my cake so I'm on the hunt for a cake.

My mum has her make up trial on Tuesday so that's exciting.

Everything else is currently still as the above list - Better get my finger out!! :-) xx

We're the 15th August... Can't believe how quickly it's going in now! Really just want to get on with wedding stuff but I've an exam in 4 Weeks unfortunately sending out all of my invites today! And.... My dress came in this week! Really wasn't expecting it til about 4 weeks before, but ideal timing as my sister (CBM) is home from London next week so she can come to my first fitting. Organised our first meeting & menu tasting for a week on fri and we'll hand in the M10 forms then too, and it's h2bs stag next weekend.... So much still to do as I'm doing loads of DIY but can't wait to get stuck into it all post exam!

Don't panic!! I'm just UBER organised because I'm working from a reserve list (The pitfalls of being UBER popular - just kidding - the joys of having a big family and being the first wedding!!)

I picked up my invites last week & hoping to get them out at the end of this month so that's something ticked off the list. Also flowers got booked & sorted today & my first dress fitting is on Thursday so excited!

I was in Primark the other day & seen these lovely wee heart photo frames that are on string to hang (not making them sound so nice but they are) and I decided to pick them up & I'm going to hang them on the candelabras for the table names, just something a wee bit different. They don't really match my colours so I picked up some paint testers from Homebase & tested it on 1 last night & it's come up great.

15 weeks now for me, with my hen 3 weeks on Friday.....need to arrange to get my jaw wired shut inbetween then too haha xx
