Default Honeymoon ideas ~ my top ten

    Hello Ladies
There are so many places to choose from for your Honeymoon that it can become a really tough job trying to pick something that is unique and special. Your Wedding is likely to be one of the best days of your life while your Honeymoon is the start of your married life together and romance has to be the order of the day... or fortnight!
Some people want Luxury and Indulgence, others like small and boutique in a hidden corner of paradise whereas some like to sail off on a Dive boat for a week or more and others prefer the cold and take off on a Skiing Honeymoon to the mountains!

I thought I would put some of my own ideas forward and also some of the requests I have had this past year and would love to hear how you decided on your Honeymoon and where you have chosen!

PAMPERED LUXURY: JADE MOUNTAIN ST LUCIA followed by 3 Days at COTTON HOUSE on Mustique
AFRICAN ADVENTURE: Governors Camp Safari Masai Mara twinned with the sugar white beaches of Zanzibar.
POPULAR: 2 or 3 centre Las Vegas, San Francisco & Hawaii - especially halfway up the side of a Volcano with a hot tub in the forest!
WILD AND FURRY: COSTA RICA for Sea Turtles & the sweetest Sloths as well as fabulous monkey forests & luxury hotels - check out Rancho Pacifico for true paradise on earth
SOMETHING DIFFERENT: HOTEL LE CHOCOLAT St Lucia - Imagine.. it's a coco plantation! Even Dinner has chocolate in!
AMERICAN ADVENTURE - GRAND CANYON, DEATH VALLEY, YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, THE BIG SUR - Live the American Dream especially if you choose to drive a Convertible throughout!
BEARS IN MONTANA and stay on a real Cowboy Ranch if horses are your life!
SKI IN SWITZERLAND - Fabulous food, Luxury Spa Hotels, world's most beautiful mountain railways. Check out Coeur des Alpes in Zermatt or the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa, one of the leading hotels in the world where your taxi is a horse drawn carriage and you can use the hotels mountain railway the exciting Tschuggen express to transport you up the mountain at a gradient of 52 per cent!
DUBAI & THE MALDIVES Another popular combination although ABU DHABI is fast becoming as popular as a first centre prior to the Indian Ocean stretch. The beauty in this two centre is that all budgets are catered for yet you can still have a fantastic Honeymoon without breaking the bank... well too much!
TUSCANY TWINS WITH VENICE or FLORENCE to make a truly Romantic combination made in heaven. Il Salviatino in Florence is the epitomy of Italian Elegance and attention to detail. Where else can you sip a glass of chilled prosecco whilst enjoying a full frontal view of the Rialto Bridge but from the Al Ponte Antico Hotel.
CARIBBEAN still tops the choice of many newlyweds looking for stunning white beaches, superb snorkelling and diving and a pick of many fabulous All Inclusive hotels. Florida and the Bahamas or Mexico make a great couple, and I have had more requests for different Caribbean islands such a Anguilla and St Barths or Turks & Caicos.
INDIA - The Taj Mahal is a top choice for romance. A mausoleum built by the Shah Jahan for his wife and love of his life when she died. How very sad but truly very romantic! Spa and Ayurvedic hotels in the Himalayas are something I had had a few requests for as people search for yet further away and new destinations. Elephant riding in Nepal was one request last year!
There are so many amazing palces to choose from for your Honeymoon but I hope this has given you some ideas if you are still trying to decide! And remember to say where you are going and how you decided! I love hearing about the favourite and current choices for Honeymoons!
    Happy Wedding Planning!

    Hi Staci
You're not the only ones, a lot of couples can't decide, it's got to be special and it's probably the most important holiday of your life so it takes a lot of thought and planning.

We don't have a shop Staci (we have a head office in Bolton) as we are all homeworkers but I would be happy to come and meet you both if you like, at home or out for a coffee? I work near Biggar in South Lanarkshire, but can travel within about 70 miles - or possibly more. I have done that many times and I am more than happy to if you are. Or the majority of my customers chat on the phone and email and you have nothing to worry about that way! Once you get to know me hopefully it'll just be like talking with a friend! We are not a call centre, there are over 1000 of us who have each had many years in the Travel Industry. Travel Counsellors believe we are the best! We offer a personal service, it's me you get and you have access to my mobile and home number 24/7. I sleep with my phone on and next to me at all times! This is especially helpful if you are away and have a problem. We have been there on the spot for people involved in the ash cloud situation and more. No call centres where you get a different person every time on the phone, it is our own businesses and we are all individual and unique in our ways and experience.

If I tell you we are the only UK Travel Company to have won the Queen's Award, hopefully that helps to show we are to be trusted and that your money is 100% Financially protected and that's no if's no buts!! This very personal service doesn't cost any extra in case you are wondering. I work according to your budget and what you can afford and aim to get the very best for your money. I research every hotel and because of our buying power we have fantastic relationships with hotel groups and individuals alike and I will always try and get you upgrades where I can or extras that sometimes you might not be aware of. I do so much more than a regular travel agent.

If you PM me your telephone number I will give you a call Staci. After I have spoken with you and get a feel for what you like when you go on holiday I can hopefully help steer you in the right direction for your Honeymoon with some great ideas.
I look forward to hearing from you.

We're going to the Maldives! We wanted our honeymoon to be a once in a lifetime trip to paradise so narrowing it down to the Indian Ocean was easy. We got engaged in Dubai so we're not stopping off there this time (although I would totally recommend a few days there to any B2B who is planning a honeymoon in the Indian Ocean!) Mauritius had more rainfall at the time of year were going so that was ruled out, and there was a larger choice of resorts in the Maldives compared to the Seychelles so that's how we decided on the Maldives. As for the resort, we had a fantastic travel advisor (Carol-Anne at Little Luxury Islands) who recommended a few resorts based on our requirements (family-friendly, short transfer time from airport, great a la carte all inclusive option), and in the end we went with her top recommendation - Kuramathi in the Maldives! Can't wait!!! We fly 12 weeks on Monday!!!

Fantastic choice!! It's a gorgeous Island and the A la Carte AI option was def the way to go as otherwise it can be a bit restrictive, now you can eat to your hearts content with no restrictions! If you Dive, there is a decompression chamber on Kuramathi and a specialist medical clinic which is always reassuring. As of last October (not sure if they are changing for this year but unlikely)they also had an excellent marine biologist who gave talks and took out snorkelling safaris. The snorkelling is stunning and just a small tip, it's always a good idea to buy your own face mask at a proper dive shop here in the UK and get it fitted to your face properly before you go as the majority of people fall out with snorkelling because their mask fills up with water. This is mostly because they don't fit or their hair is inside the mask and the water leaks in this way! 12 weeks and counting, wow, we'll probably be 3 feet under the snow by then! Have an amazing time!!!

Hi Marisa, thanks so much for that! I'd really appreciating meeting up just so we can talk through some ideas and get a rough idea of cost. We have a new born so at our home would be best. We are right next to Hampden stadium. I tried to PM you but I'm not sure it worked. You can contact me on my email isb12177@uni.strath.ac.uk then can swap numbers from there!

    Thanks

    Hi Mrs MacDiamond,

here are some suggestions for you depending where you have been!!!..

you could do a city break like New York or a cruise around the Mediterannean. Your other option would be a lovely hotel in the Mediterranean adults only, there are some lovely places where there are lots to do as well.

If you need any help just shout.
