    hi,

    opinions wanted!
Me and H2B are strugglin to find venues we like close to home,
Is it unreasonable to ask our guests to travel for about an hour to our wedding? H2B seems to think so

An hour? I don't think that's unreasonable at all.

I would say three or four hours would be pushing the limits, unless they were family members or special friends.

When we got married my uncle, aunt and cousin came over from Italy! The rest of my family and most of my chums came over from Edinburgh (to Glasgow).

I wouldn't say an hour is unreasonable - as long as you give them plenty of notice! - maybe put in local hotel details with the invites, so they have to choice to stay somewhere closer to the venue.

If it makes you feel any better, my h2b and I are looking to get married near his family in the north of scotland - however we live down south in Northampton - so all of our friends and my family will have to travel Which they are more than willing to do We are sending out Save the date cards, to give people lots of notice, and sending hotel information with the invites giving them the opportunity to turn it into a mini break/holiday!
