Hi future mrs m, I was looking at this idea for my tables too. I was talking to lots of different florists at the secc on sat. Generally you will be looking at approx 15 each to hire the goldfish bowls and flowers for the inside etc. I have since decided on something else but have to say that they do look stunning as a focal point on the tables when you see them displayed.

I'm making my own fishbowl table decs - see previous post with pics:

    http://scottishweddingdirectory.co.u...read.php?t=792

They're costing under 10 each! Got the fishbowls in Au Naturale for 5 (you'll need to be quick though, as I'm sure they're going into administration) and everything else from ikea!!

    Good luck!

Im doing fishbowls, which have small inserts for the top. Im putting flowers in the inserts, then fillin the fishbowls with flying saucer sweets (love is sweet is our theme). I got them from rainbow florist supplies, which do really good discounts on their website. xx

why dont you get the fishbowls add some coloured gel in the base with 3 or4 flo lites then wind some beargrass inside with a single stem of silk orchids

this sitting on a mirror base is fantastic especially with the lights in the gel

    Hi Ladies,

If you are having trouble finding Fishbowls in stores, you can purchase them from WeddingMall.co.uk - They are 5.53 each. Paired with a Mirrored Plate (Starting at 2.53), some floating candles inside and tealights around the mirrored plate - you could add a really lovely glow to each table, for under 10.

If you are going for a White colour scheme, you could place a round doily on the bottom of the inside, so that it rises about an inch up inside the fishbowl and put a lovely large candle ontop.

If you follow this link, you might get some ideas as to how something like a doily might look (With some experimenting!)

    Enjoy the planning!

    Future Mrs M

You could try this site for your fishbowls.

    http://www.rainbowfloristsupplies.co...ble_Vases.html

Timeless has already given you some ideas , but as an alternative to this you could have some beargrass around the inner edges of the bowl with a large headed bloom on the bottom and then on a mirrored plate with some surrounding tealights and petals. Again costing you less than 10 per table.
Lovely tealight holders can be purchased in Ikea, coloured petals can also be purchased there.
If you were very confident, you could create this look by yourself with just the flowers supplied by florist or you could give the fishbowls to florist to include the blooms.

Love this idea too. Just many flower heads packed into bottom of bowl. I expect some kind of gel or preservative would be placed in bottom of bowl to extend flower life.

As an alternative to fishbowls jam jar flowers and flowers in jugs have a very vintage feel.

As an alternative to the Fishbowl you could also consider a cubed vase

    [c] sisterflowers

These can be purchased here http://www.rainbowfloristsupplies.co...are_Vases.html
or on the high street at places such as Ikea and Au Naturale

Hope that gives you a little inspiration.

You should be able to get mirrored plates in Au Naturale in Linlithgow. Usually from about 2 dependant on size.

If you are prepared to go to the Ikea just outside Edinburgh than you can get a 4 pack of 20cm mirrored plates [ actually tiles, but look same] for 4.99 http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60074007
I sourced this for my June Bride last year, and they looked great

Hi, i'm in need of a bit of advice regarding table decorations. I like all the ideas shown on this thread so far - my fav is the square vase, but would they suit long tables? If how many would i need per table? The tables in my venue are all different lengths - some for 8 with others up to 12 or 14. Some help on this would be appeciated. Thanks

For a table with approx 12 - 14, I would space the vases at least the length of 3 chairs apart and you would probably need 4 square vases
Slightly similar to these flowers in their locations.
For a table of 8 , you would need at least 2.
However these square vases can be purchased relatively cheaply.
