I'm not a great fan of speeches. For me, the best wedding speeches are quickly forgotten and the worst are remembered only for negative reasons.

Grant's speech was blessedly short, if a little nervous.

Our best man's speech was dreadful. It was so bad that when we watched the wedding DVD with him even he couldn't believe it. I mean, I've never heard the best man spend his entire speech sending himself up!

Thankfully, the speeches were over fairly quickly. I do kind of wish I'd been able to skip them to go and watch the kids' magic show!

Is your magicians name Iain? I'm positive he is the husband of a woman I work beside and was thinking of using him. I have seen his act once before and really enjoyed it. How did you find him?

His name is indeed Ian and he was fantastic. Seriously our guests are still raving about him.

He was great, once we got past the little niggle early-ish on. Sorry for not replying earlier.

Two of our ushers (a couple) are hoping to book him for their wedding in 2015. :-)

I know I promised to finish this before our first wedding anniversary but I have failed monumentally to do so! I promise I will finish it (particularly as I'm planning to make a little book for myself of it) but life kind of took over.
