Default Making my own table centres too - see photo

I tried a wee table design and I love it. Very simple but effective. I used a fish bowl filled with those gel crystals that you put in water, lined the bowl with beargrass then made a carnation pomander with an oasis ball and carnations for on top. The pomander does not look as round as it should because I have only half covered it (ran out of carnations).

I hope to put a floralyte inside the gel and put the whole thing on a mirror base with tealights round it perhaps.

My whole theme of flowers is pomanders as I just love them so I am having them lining the aisle, then they will be used on the tables afterwards.

My daughter will also carry a pomander and I have chosen carnations as they last for weeks. I will prob make them a few days before the wedding and store in my mums garage.

Roughly 20 per table I am guessing but I have just been to Next Clearance and picked up my fish bowls for 2.00 a pop - Cant believe it, so excited. They were originally 14 with a fake floral display inside them but I have just ripped that out. Where else on earth can you get fish bowls for 2 quid?????

I was in clydebank at the time but they had to phone another store for more.

ended up going to the forge to get them and i thnk they may hav had more. they did say a good lot of them were damaged but i ended up taking a few of them anyway as the damaged part was round the inside rim which i can sand down and you wont see the rim as the pomanders will be on top.

Its worth a try to giv them a call and see. They are medium sized i would guess 7-8 inches wide which is just what i wanted. Next is the last place on earth i would even contemplate looking for these things and I came across it by chance on the way out the door!!

They are usually in big shopping centres and retail parks - Iwent to one in Clydebank and one at the Forge.

If you google it and find one, theres usually a number to call them and you can find your nearest. I'm sure they will have a website.

    Hope you find one. xx

Hi, I went to flowerscene today in seaward street in Glasgow and it had fish bowls, martini glasses and other vases for sale at a reasonable price if anyone is looking for ideas for table centre pieces. They also do other things for weddings but mainly artificial flowers. xx
