Thanks you guys! My actual veil will be a good bit longer than that in pale gold tulle with dark red beading and gold embroidery. My mum agreed with me that I should definitely want to go with the red beading as it'll stand out really well against the dress. :-)

I've just had an email from Emma and we're going to make the evening skirt a full reflection of the day skirt, but shorter. So it'll have the same sort of pleating and gathering in the front.

She's nicknamed my skirt for the daytime, "The Beast", as it is so scarily enormous.

Wow Sundae, your dress looks AMAZING! I love your veil too - just so stunning. I agree with the other B2B who said this is an addictive post indeed.

I'm having my bridesmaid's dresses made since we're going for a 50's inspired theme and couldn't find anything off the shelf we liked and I agree that the creative process is great fun: picking the exact fabric, shape and of course the fact that it's made to measure. Can't wait to see pictures of your big day with both outfits in full! P.S. This gave me the idea of doing a stage by stage with my bridesmaids....would you be offended if I replicated your idea?

Ooh! What colour have you gone for with your bridesmaids? I'd love to see a progress thread, no offence taken whatsover!

Well, I had another fitting today. We had to put it back by a week as I was really ill last week (and so was Emma). So we did fittings for the two shorter skirts (although I've only got pictures of the circle skirt). There will be pleating on the front of the circle skirt like there is on the big skirt so once the petticoats are on it'll look really similar (albeit shorter) and the pencil skirt is really slinky.

You look amazing in it, you must be so pleased. I was telling someone about your dress yesterday, but trying to describe it wasn't easy! xxx

Thank you! Now I'm feeling like it's coming together, I'm delighted. There have been a lot of freak-outs on the way to this point.

I'll be so glad when the petticoats are done. Sometimes I look at what I'm getting and I'm amazed at how much there is to it.

There is so much to it and probably the best value for money I've seen! It is a truly stunning dress so far, I just can't wait to see the finished dress and the veil together! xx

What a lovely cut it is, really flatters and defines your figure. Must be amazing seeing your dress come together just how you envisage it. Beautiful :-) Absolutely love the veil!!!

This is going to be one of the most amazing dresses I've ever seen! How on earth are you going to dance in all of that though, it must way a ton. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Honestly, it's deceptively light. We've gone for a crinoline rather than layers of petticoats so there's only three layers of dress in the big skirt and the weight is spread over the corset so it doesn't feel like much at all.

Another fitting yesterday. The bodice is almost finished and looking gorgeous and we did a fitting with the two shorter skirts.

The big one will have 6 layers of petticoats under it (currently only has 2) and the slim one is for cocktail parties with the Jimmy Choos!
